Charles Copas talks about conditions at Fort Benning during his service there, including barracks, transportation, and discipline. He mentions several officers that he served with that later became generals: Whitfield P. Shepard, Kota, Dahlquist, George Marshall, Bedell Smith, Stillwell, and Bradley, as well as two of General Pershing's visits to Fort Benning. He also talks about hunting birds at Fort Benning.
